Helen Kandy Bakery homepage: an exploded mango dessert showing its layers next to 'It looks like a mango. It's dessert.'

The menu is built from Helen's own price list, so she can change it herself.

The starting point

Helen makes mousse cakes and ganache desserts shaped like real fruit: a mango, a pear or a lemon that you cut open to find layers inside.

There was no website. Nowhere to send someone to see the whole range, the sizes and prices, or how far ahead to order. Every sale started from scratch.

What we built

An ordering site. The homepage opens on a mango that comes apart layer by layer, so you get the idea before you read a word. The menu shows every dessert with its sizes, prices, minimum quantities and what's inside.

Customers fill a cart, choose a pickup day and time, and pay by card. Every order is checked against Helen's price list, logged to a spreadsheet and emailed to the kitchen.

The details

  • Menu and prices live in one file Helen can edit herself
  • Minimum quantities and order-ahead times enforced per dessert
  • Pickup scheduling built from her real hours
  • Card payments through Stripe, with prices checked on the server
  • Custom cake quote form for weddings and events
  • A gallery of 170+ photos with a full-screen viewer
